About Us

Accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA),Reid Park Zoo is a 24-acre nature oasis housing more than 300 animals from around the world, many endangered, in naturalistic habitats.

Featured species include African elephants, Andean bears, reticulated giraffe, Andean Highland Flamingo and more. With a focus on connecting people and animals to preserve wild animals and wild places, Reid Park Zoo participates in more than 30 Species Survival Plans and supports global field conservation programs to ensure a better future for wildlife.

In addition to up-close views of the animals, daily giraffe feedings, carousel and train rides, behind-the-scenes tours and daily zookeeper habitat chats add to the Zoo experience. Year-round education programs and special events appeal to all ages, and a variety of exotic venues provide the perfect backdrop for ''out of the box'' corporate gatherings and private parties. In the new World of Play Adventure Zone, kids of all ages can climb, slide, jump and explore their world through sensory play and interactive exhibits as they explore an Antarctic ice cave, the South American rainforest and the grandeur of the redwoods through a 30-foot sequoia tree.

Coming in 2026, the new Pathway to Asia will expand the Zoo by 4.5 acres, bringing some of Asia's most beautiful and exotic animals to Tucson including red pandas and Komodo dragons, and will establish the Zoo as a conservation and breeding center for Malayan tigers.

The Zoo is open from 9am - 4pm, October -May and from 8am - 2pm June -September.
